"All we have to do is learn to be a little kinder and we will solve the problems of the universe." -Aldous Huxley
People are mean these days. I just can't wrap my head around it. Smiles are ignored by passerbys on the street, pedestrians don't bother with courtesy waves, doors aren't held open for another person scurrying quickly from behind, mergers on the freeway are overlooked and ignored. This world is a mess. Isn't it easier to be nice than it is to be mean? Wouldn't you rather know that you made someones day, instead of breaking it?
One time, I was driving from Monterey to Sacramento with my boyfriend. After about an hour, we exited and pulled over on the shoulder so I could drive the rest of the way and he could take a nap. He put the hazards on, and we did our little Chinese Fire Drill. While I was buckling up, a truck pulled over a little ways behind me and I motioned out my window for him to pass us and keep going. He didn't pass, and stayed where he was. I realized that he had pulled over to see if we needed any help! I put a thumbs up out my window, and he proceeded to exit on his way. I was truly touched. I wanted to jump out of my car and give him a hug, and had I not been on the freeway, I probably would have. We need more people like you, Mister Truck Guy!
EDIT:
Today I was driving to class. I was in Marina, on Carmel trying to cross over Del Monte and a very impatient car was behind me. They kept honking at me, and tried to zoom around me when I finally got across Del Monte (yes, they tried to PASS me while I was crossing 4 lanes) and proceeded to honk violently and flip me off when they finally got in front of me. What on earth is so important that you have to be a complete jackass?! Did you have a screw driver in your head and you needed to get the the hospital? Was the mob after you? Zombies? The super fast kind, like in that Will Smith movie?

Food
Feelin' hungry at work, so I thought I'd share some of my favorite recipes from RecipeZarr.
1. BBQ Crockpot Chicken Sandwiches
This was the first thing I made in my crock pot, and it is SO incredibly easy and delicious. The sweet onion caramelizes in the BBQ sauce, and the chicken basically shreds itself.
2. Funky Chicken
I made this for my mom and dad when they visited me for the first time in my new apartment. Definitely a keeper. I would tone down on the soy/teriyaki sauce on the chicken though. Maybe 1/8th of a cup each. If not, the chicken gets pretty salty and dries out.
3. Fajitas
Noms. Who doesn't like a good fajita?
4. Honey Roasted Balsamic Mushrooms
These are a really easy side dish that I can whip up real fast like for last minute meals.
5. Tortellini Soup
I would use already diced tomatoes (if not fresh ones), because you cut them up anyway and if you use whole ones, you just loose all the juice.
6. Oreo Truffles
Uh, no. Your eyes do not deceive you. There is a way to make Oreos even BETTER.
The description of number 4 makes me sound like such a mom. I'm only 21, not 55. I swear.

Post numba two
I had an epically terrible weekend that I am exercising positive censorship over by being able to speak about it, but refusing to share such information over the internet to strangers. That's right... isn't it?
There's a little example of what you can tag your post as at the bottom of the update screen, and one of them is scooters. I never got into the scooter fad, but I was an impressive rollerblader. I had Barbie skates from the thrift store. Also instead of spending money on pads for my elbows and knees, my mom cut off the ends of socks for me to slip over my legs and arms. She was pretty ingenious, and who was I to know that I looked like an idiot? When I got older I also inherited an old bike from my neighbor, with swoop handle bars and a banana seat that we spray painted neon purple. My friends made fun of all the time back then and no amount of those little plastic beads you stick on your spokes to make it click obnoxiously could persuade them that my bike was cool.
So, to end this post, here's an adorable gif from 30 Rock:

Do you guys watch 30 Rock? It's getting more amazing every season. Unlike The Office, which jumped the shark last season IMO.

Bob Loblaw's Law Blog
I like: food, unicorns, crocheting, and Arrested Development.
I don't like: bad movies, loud commercials or waking up early.
I have a fish tank full of grateful fish, a homeless cat who visits periodically, and a boyfriend who drinks all of my chocolate milk.
I work in the HCOM office. I am an HCOM major.
